Clearing
I created this image with this beautiful quotation as a part of my intrepid joy series several months ago. If you look at the image, the subtle message inside is a plug and a plot for you to claim the freedom you crave. Now, as we are approaching the sixth week of our “Shelter at Home” mandate, I find these words and image more clarifying and relevant than ever. The truth is, I’ve spent years thinking about the clearing I’ve been craving. Thinking like this never gets me any useful traction. As I reflect, it was never about the time I thought I needed. It was about claiming the stillness that helps me access my clarity.
As I become more and more rooted over these past few weeks, and the business of life has settled, I am finally able to slow down enough to do what these wise words are urging us to do ~ find my own center. I have used this time to refine, redefine, and calibrate my own nourishment compass. And I have to say, I feel more embodied and effective because of it. Finally, I’ve learned what it takes to clear the clearing and locate myself on my own Map of Intention. It has nothing to do with time. This map has enabled me to locate myself and my own nourishing heartbeat. Can you hear yours too?
I am wondering what kind of clearing you have needed to claim for yourself?
If you have a minute, SEND ME A MESSAGE. I would love to hear about your experience. I will write you back.
And in the meantime, this is me sending a huge wish for you to claim the space you need
to create this clearing and clarity to be nourished in the best way possible.

Evidence of Wonder
According the the Merriam-Webster dictionary the definition for Wonder is…
1. a cause for astonishment
2. the quality of exciting amazed admiration
3. rapt attention or astonishment at something awesomely mysterious or new to one's experience.
And this is exactly what I felt when I saw these beautiful flower friends pop up in my garden. They come from the very same pot I put them in thirteen years ago. They’re called a fritllaria meleagris, or Scarlet Bells, but I call them fairy skirts. The geometric pattern baffles my mind. What a flashy show for such a small delicate flower. My reward for looking close. It speaks to my absolute conviction that ...

“We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit. ”
The Power of the Scribble
In all my classes, I encourage my students to commit to using their curiosity to explore what is emerging within and in front of them. To do this we learn to let go and surrender to where our creativity wants to take us. We practice not being attached to the outcome. This is one way to encounter your muse. I remind my students that they can use this kind of curiosity to dance with their lives as well. This is how trust is formed.
I teach each of my students that their marks are the evidence and declaration of their precious selfhood and that each line holds their signature of energy. This matters.
In the end of a scribble session, I love to step back and ask my drawing if it has a message for me. Even from a scribble there is meaning to be mined. A message from the muse truing the nourishment compass once again. Her message this time you ask?
She wants us to keep showing up and scribbling the page… she told me that there is mystery and magic for us to have by doing this process and that the more we practice, the more the messages will come to the fore. She told me to tell you, “She is the one who waits for you to believe in your ability to move mountains.” She told me the more we trust her, the more she can help us embody the textures and colors of true living. She told me there was more but that was for another day… so stayed tuned, she may be back again! ~♥️~
What if a scribble could give you the
information you seek?
I encourage you to take a blank piece of paper and scribble for 3 minutes. Remember no skill required just curiosity. Step back and ask your Muse. Let me know what she says or if you want a deeper dive…
It’s time to claim your Joy!
It is just as simple as that my dear one. Your muse awaits you. I promise you resisting her is a lot more challenging than giving in. But in case you need more evidence, check out the wise words below and then let this picture to the left, drive home the point.
“When we create, we engage with the life force of creation. Creating isn’t about talent. Creating is about feeling more. Expressing more truthfully. Creativity is an active energy within all beings. Even when it appears dormant, it isn’t.
